THE EVENT

OUR SCHEDULE IS NOW LIVE HERE

For our second European edition, Sleeper SESSIONS heads to the Croatian hotspot of Dubrovnik.

Combining the ancient architecture of the Old Town with more recent Socialist-era structures elsewhere along the coast, Dubrovnik is now a dynamic tourism destination with a rich and fascinating history.

Our host venue the Dubrovnik Palace is a luxury property located on the Lapald peninsula, nestled between pine forests and the cobalt waters of the Adriatic. Cascading down to the waterfront its tiered terraces and state-of-the-art event spaces will offer a stunning backdrop to Sleeper Sessions #3. Designed around guest connection, wellbeing and shared artisanal experiences, Sleeper SESSIONS Dubrovnik will inspire and regenerate.

At the core of our programme is ‘SYNC’ – a synchronised meetings schedule, matching suppliers with pre-vetted specifiers, identified through the THP pipeline database, previous nominees and winners of the AHEAD Awards, and industry leading studios whose work has featured in the pages of Sleeper Magazine.

Our keynote SYMPOSIA speaker Maroje Mrduljas has a PhD in Architecture from the University of Zagreb and a particular interest in the modernist structures of socialist Yugoslavia. He is also a renowned author, curator, lecturer and TV host whose documentary series ‘Slumbering Concrete’ lifted the lid on Brutalist icons such as the Haludovo hotel resort on the island of Krk.

Maroje’s opening address will set the scene for a compelling programme of Symposia speaker-led sessions and Sustenance elements to nourish mind, body and soul.

Dubrovnik-born Marko Dabrović – a founding partner of 3LHD Architects – will pick up the Brutalist baton from Maroje, with a deeper dive into Croatian culture and hospitality.

Hospitality experts from the region, including Una Barac (Atellior), Kristina Zanic (Kristina Zanic Design Consultants) and Tomislav Čeh (Head of Adriatic Sea – PKF), will look at global design and development trends through a local lens.

Our category-defining Sustenance programme creates shared moments of humanity across the spectrum of mental and physical wellbeing and is closely linked to the Symposium.

Expect hands-on explorations of concrete as a building material, opportunities to immerse yourself in Croatian craft, cuisine and culture, as well as behind-the-scenes access to the studios of Dubrovnik’s artists and artisans.

These shared activities create a deeper and richer connection with fellow guests. Reconnect with your community, your projects and yourself at Sleeper SESSIONS Dubrovnik.
