Mykonos is a fitting destination for Sleeper SESSIONS – the ‘next generation’ of hotel design forum. Designed around guest connection, wellbeing and shared artisanal experience, Sleeper SESSIONS Mykonos will inspire and regenerate.
Our host venue, the Royal Myconian Mykonos, offers spacious state-of-the-art event spaces and contemporary interiors behind a rustic façade. A tranquil spa complements a panoramic pool deck and expansive alfresco entertainment decks that nestle alongside the longest beach on the island.
As well as a Synchronised meeting schedule, powered by an algorithm matching the right specifiers with the right suppliers, our guests enjoy an irresistible itinerary:
Our Symposia speaker sessions welcome design visionaries and thought-leaders from across the region.
Guest speakers will include Dimitris Karampatakis, co-founder of K-Studio, an award winning Greek design studio creating crafted architectural experiences that are informed by tradition, enriched by materiality and inspired by contemporary life. Projects in Mykonos include Scorpios (recently acquired by Soho House Group), old town restaurant and bar Noema, newly launched boutique hotel Kalesma and the island’s brand new airport. Elsewhere in Greece, they have worked on hotels including Dexamenes, Perianth and Vora.
Celebrated professor of philosophy Massimo Pigliucci takes a look at modern Stoicism, a set of ethical ideas that act as a guide to a good life with their genesis in Ancient Greece. Find out what we all need to do in order to live a better life. Massimo’s keynote will be supplemented by workshops strolling the grounds of Royal Myconian as part of the Sustenance element of SESSIONS.
Our second day of speakers features four goddesses of the Greek design world: “Design Alchemist” Maria Vafiadis of MKV Design with projects from The Romanos at Costa Navarino and the Mykonos Riviera to the Electra Metropolis in Athens, will be in conversation with Ria Vogiatzi of Elastic Architects an Athens-based practice responsible for several Aman properties across Europe. Later on Constantina Tsoutsikou founder of Studio Lost, (The Royal Senses Resort and Numo Ierpetra, both on Crete) will be talking design dialectics with Katja Margaritoglou of Block722 (Casa Cook Samos, Olea All Suite Hotel, Zakynthos)
Sustenance SESSIONS continue our celebration of authenticity and local connection as guests take part in a variety of local crafts and artisanal activities such as yoga, pottery and sketching. Massimo Pigliucci’s Stoicism workshops will complement other elements of physical well-being. Meditative and relaxed, these activities create a deeper and richer connection with fellow guests.
Last but not least, the sun will set on our inaugural Sleeper SESSIONS with a closing dinner at the magical Scorpios, a contemporary interpretation of the ancient Greek agora, designed as gathering place meant to galvanize the artistic, spiritual, and social life of its community.
Sleeper SESSIONS Mykonos will allow guests to reconnect with their community, their projects and themselves on one of Europe’s most beautiful islands.
