Liam Aldous

Writer and Curator

A good news journalist, writer and cultural curator, Australian-born Liam Aldous is currently based in Ibiza, Spain. Working as Monocle Magazine’s Spain correspondent since 2011, he collaborates with fashion house LOEWE to write books and direct films.

During the Pandemic years, Liam creative-directed “defiantly optimistic” content and digital narrative for The Smiley Company. In 2019, he founded ColourFeel, curating inspirational, immersive, perspective-shifting experiences for companies including Nike, Slam Jam, ByRedo, and The Stack World, while collaborating on special projects with a global network of artists and musicians.

In 2023 he launched ColourFeel’s immersive experience festival ‘Another Future’ in Marrakech, Morocco. In 2024, he began publishing chronicles of his work and other musings on Substack under the masthead The ColourFeel Dispatch. A polymath focused on cultivating connection, reflection, and introspection, Liam believes in the power of collaboration as an antidote to the ambient anxiety currently gripping the world.

“As a writer and good-news journalist, my sense of optimism once prompted a friendly collaborator to describe me as “aggressively glass half full Australian.” Growing up in a family of dysfunction made me into the person I am today: hyper-empathetic and endlessly imagining better versions of our world. In 2016, I began to feel a divergence between my love of story-telling and the digital entrapment of excessive screen time. I have been honing the craft of experiential design, immersive events, and the slowly-vanishing art of holding authentic space for conscious human connections, ever since. I believe collaboration, connection, and community are the foundational essence of a meaningful life.”
